ALICE GORDON

A carte de visite photograph by Elliott & Fry, circa 1880.

Alice Gordon was not a particularly well known actress, but her striking good looks made her a favourite for a brief time with society photographers. She was born in Hackney, London in about 1856 and in 1881 described herself as a 'theatrical actor' in the census when she was lodging with theatre manager Henry Williams and his wife Emma at 127 Stamford Street, Waterloo.
